Director of Neurosurgery, Neurosciences Center, Holy Cross Hospital
Dr. Amini joined Holy Cross Hospital (HCH) as the Neurosurgical Director of the Neurosciences Center this summer. Dr. Amini was recruited by the HCH leadership to expand the department of neurosurgery at HCH. Dr. Amini completed his residency and chief residency in neurosurgery at the University of Utah Medical Center. His significant research in malignant tumors of the brain and spine, traumatic cervical spine injuries, and endoscopic spine surgeries has contributed to the neurosurgical literature. He has published more than 40 scientific papers, abstracts, and chapters in prestigious neurosurgical journals and text books. (List of publication)
Dr. Amini received his medical degree from Medical College of Virginia. He received his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Maryland College Park in Neurobiology and Cell Biology. Dr. Amini is board-eligible by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.
Outside of the operating room Dr. Amini enjoys bicycling, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and spending time with his wife and family.
